CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s tennis team travels to Lincoln, Neb. for a pair of weekend matchups with Nebraska and Harvard, Jan. 26-27.
The match between the Blue Demons and Cornhuskers marks the first time the two programs will meet on the court. First serve is set for Friday, Jan. 26 at 5:00 P.M. CST at the Dillon Tennis Center. DePaul will then take on Harvard on Saturday, Jan. 27 with first serve scheduled for 12:00 P.M CST.
The Blue Demons enter the weekend 0-1 after opening the season with a 6-1 decision against FIU on Jan. 15. Junior Eva Goncharov looks to build on her last outing, a singles victory in her DePaul debut against the Panthers.
Nebraska finished the 2022-23 season at 16-10, including a 4-6 record in conference matchups. The home-opener for Nebraska will feature German Dalmagro, a first-year head coach for the Cornhuskers. Dalmagro led Nebraska to a 7-0 victory over UC Riverside to begin the 2023-24 dual campaign. Dalmagro coached Arkansas State last season after spending four seasons as an associate head coach at Illinois.
Harvard began the season with a 2-1 record including wins over Boston College and Rice. Head coach Traci Green is at the helm of the Crimson for the 16th season. Harvard is powered by No. 103 Holly Fischer with a 5-0 record in the fall and 2-1 record to open the dual season.
