BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The College of Coastal Georgia’s 9th-ranked NAIA Men’s Tennis team has been invited to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Team Indoor Championships. This tournament showcases the top eight men’s NAIA tennis teams in the three-day tournament to crown an indoor national champion. The Mariners will compete at Overland Park Racquet Club in Kansas City from February 2 through the 4th.
“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Coastal Georgia at the ITA Men’s Indoor National Championship this year,” said Head Coach Zack Rogers. “We had a great run at the NAIA National Tournament last year in Mobile, knocking off the #19 and #3 seeds respectively to make it to the quarterfinals. To be recognized as one of the top 8 programs in the country going into the start of the spring is quite an honor and a testament to how hard the team has worked to get the program back into the top 10. We have five seniors on the roster, and I can’t think of a better way to kick off their final season and their time in Golden Isles than a trip to Kansas to battle it out with seven of the NAIA’s elite tennis programs.”
Coastal Georgia’s school-best quarterfinal finish at the 2023 NAIA National Tournament landed them this incredible opportunity. This prestigious tournament is a fantastic opportunity for our student-athletes, but it does not come without costs. Coastal Georgia Men’s Tennis seeks assistance to give our amazing student-athletes this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The estimated cost of sending the Men’s Tennis team to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships is just shy of $11,000. These costs include airfare, lodging, meals, transportation, and gear for the team. Please consider making a donation to help them with these costs so we can reward this team’s hard work and showcase the College and the tennis programs at the Indoor Nationals before they begin their outdoor 2024 season.
