OXFORD, Miss. – Led by the bottom of the singles lineup, Ole Miss women’s tennis grabbed their first win of the season in a 5-2 victory over Tulsa. Andrea Nova and Rachel Krzyzak brought their success from the fall into the spring.
 
Ole Miss (1-0) began by taking the doubles point away from Tulsa (5-1), helped by the return of Anaelle Leclercq-Ficher. In her first action of the 2023-24 campaign, the junior and her doubles partner Ludmila Kareisova were the first to finish, taking down their opponents 6-3. 
 
The Rebels clinched the doubles soon after that by the hand of Kelsey Mize and Nova. The senior/freshmen duo handled business with a 6-3 win.
 
Heading into singles, the Rebels tacked on four more points in a row to take a 5-0 lead over the Golden Hurricanes. Northwestern transfer Briana Crowley earned her first dual singles win as a Rebel, defeating Lily Hutchings on court three, 6-2, 6-4.
 
Building on her 8-4 fall record, Nova won both sets by a 6-2 score at No. 6 singles. It’s the third straight season the Rebels have had a freshman win their first dual doubles and singles matches, joining Leclercq-Ficher and Emma Kette. Krzyzak also had a great fall and stayed out Friday, securing the victory with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph.
 
Reka Zadori continues to move up the Ole Miss career singles list, notching her 55th career singles win in a 7-5, 6-3 win. The senior climbed into the program’s top-30.
  
The Rebels immediately hit the road to Memphis for a match on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT.
