Women’s Tennis Drops NEC Duel to Sacred Heart


WEST POINT, N.Y. (BUBearcats.com) – The Binghamton women’s tennis team dropped its first NEC match of the spring season to Sacred Heart, 7-0, inside Army’s Malek Tennis Center Friday afternoon. 

Caterina Casadei and Samantha Jaros put together the Bearcats best doubles result in the No. 3 spot, taking two games from the Pioneers but ultimately falling 5-2. 

Nitya Vyas earned five games across two sets at fifth singles, losing to Sacred Heart’s Ciara O’Toole, 6-3, 6-2. 

Britney Korir made her spring debut for BU at No. 6 singles, resulting in a 6-0, 6-2 win for SHU. 

Next up, Binghamton takes on Army tomorrow morning, Jan. 27, in West Point, N.Y. Match time is slated for 8 a.m.
