Katja Wiersholm won in straight sets Saturday to send the Bears to Sunday’s final in Norman.
NORMAN, Okla. – Katja Wiersholm won in straight sets to clinch the California women’s tennis team’s 4-0 victory over Illinois in the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Saturday and send the 19th-ranked Golden Bears into a Sunday final against host and 16th-ranked Oklahoma. The winner of Sunday’s 2 p.m. CT match advances to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in February.
Wiersholm, a junior, defeated Josie Frazier, 6-1, 6-2, at court-four singles to end Saturday’s match.
