Cher Is Disappointed When Elijah Blue Allman’s Conservatorship Is Denied

Judge Jessica A. Uzcategui dismissed Cher’s request for a temporary conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman, on Monday.

Despite the iconic singer’s fears for her son’s well-being, the court concluded that there was insufficient evidence to demonstrate that the 47-year-old recovered addict was incapable of managing his own affairs and finances.

Judge Uzcategui stated that there was no clear “lack of capacity” on Elijah Blue’s side to manage his life, and she saw “no urgency” in granting guardianship.

The court discovered that Elijah Blue is currently drug-free and has rented an apartment for himself.

The 77-year-old legend, who appeared remotely via video link, seemed sad as she presented herself in court.

Cher’s plea, expressed concern for her son’s well-being in light of his previous battles with substance misuse and mental health issues, aiming to assure Blue’s safety.

Despite this setback, the court’s judgement comes as a blow to her, who claimed her son was incapable of caring for himself.

The judge’s decision indicates a finding that, for the time being, he is capable of regulating his own life.

Elijah appeared in court with his wife, Marieangela King. Despite their familial tie, neither she nor Elijah smiled throughout the ceremony.

King has previously expressed serious misgivings about Cher’s suitability as the head of a conservatorship, even going so far as to say in court records that she would be “categorically unfit to serve” in such a post if one were to be established.
