EKU Men’s Tennis Host A Doubleheader Against Union College

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men’s tennis team (2-3, 0-0 ASUN) hosts a doubleheader against Union College (Ky.) (0-0, 0-0 AAC) on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.

Fans can get free doughnuts at the first match of the doubleheader.
 
THE COLONELS
EKU enters the match with a 2-3 record, beating Xavier and UIC at home and losing to #11 Kentucky and #18 Georgia twice on the road.
 
The Colonels are led by Moritz Mayer, as he beat Georgia’s Miguel Perez Pena in singles play, who is the No. 43 singles player in the country. It was the highest-ranked singles win in program history. Mayer has a 3-2 singles record, winning the ASUN Men’s Tennis Player of the Week twice.
 
Paul-Antoine Brazet and Fernando Bulnes have two wins each in singles play this season. Brazet and Kristoffer Stahlbrand lead the team with two wins in doubles from the No. 3 court.
 
SCOUTING UNION COLLEGE (Ky.)
Union College (Ky.) enters the contest ranked No. 22 in the latest ITA NAIA team rankings, as they play their first matches of the season against the Colonels. The Bulldogs posted a 13-6 mark in 2023, finishing their season at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship in a 4-1 loss to Tennessee Wesleyan.
