PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – Tonight, we learned that longtime Bay Springs High School Basketball Coach Corey Mackey has passed away.

Lamar County Coroner Blake Matherne said Mackey died at an area hospital of what appeared to be natural causes, but an autopsy will be performed.

Mackey was well-known and respected in the community.

The West Jasper School District is expected to issue an official statement on Wednesday.
