ACU Opens Home Schedule on Friday – Abilene Christian University Athletics


ABILENE – Abilene Christian makes its home men’s tennis debut on Friday, hosting Texas-Permian Basin at noon and Hardin-Simmons at 4 p.m.
 
ACU finishes up the homestand weekend with a 1 p.m. match against Lamar.

Weather permitting, the matches will take place outdoors at the Eager Tennis Pavilion. In case of rain or wind, the matches will be indoors at the Teague Event Center.
 
The Wildcats are 1-3 this season, including a win over Texas Tech.
 
UTPB is making its spring debut after a 12-9 campaign in 2023. ACU and UTPB last met in 2021 with the Wildcats grabbing the 6-1 win.
 
Hardin-Simmons also is opening its season on Saturday, playing UTPB at 10 a.m. ACU swept the Cowboys, 7-0, last season.
 
Lamar, which beat ACU 4-3 last season, is 2-4 this spring after sweeping two matches from Alcorn.

Freshman Merse Deli leads the Wildcats with a 2-1 singles record in duals and Daniel Morozov has nine singles wins, including fall tournaments, this season. Morozov and Ethan Scribner have accounted for seven wins each for the year in doubles.
