Gibraltar’s girls basketball team led by three points at halftime Tuesday, but ended up losing at home in Packerland Conference action to Peshtigo, 40-39.
“Unfortunately, we lacked some of that killer instinct to put the game away when we had chances to extend the lead or get stops in the second half,” said Vikings head coach Evan DeBroux. “It’s something that has been an issue on this run of recent results that we need to figure out as a team heading into the final stretch of the season.”
Mikala Gorham accounted for more than half of Gibraltar’s scoring with a game-high 21 points, including three threes.
The Vikings, who have lost six games in a row and dropped to 4-8 in the conference and 6-11 overall, next host a non-conference game Thursday against Goodman/Pembine prior to Saturday’s Packerland contest at Sevastopol.
