The Arkansas men’s basketball team will be without forward Trevon Brazile and guard Davonte “Devo” Davis on Wednesday when the Razorbacks face Missouri at Mizzou Arena.
It will be the second consecutive game each player has missed.
Brazile, who is averaging 8.9 points and 6.5 rebounds this season, sat out the second half of Arkansas’ Jan. 24 loss at Ole Miss due to a knee issue. He then missed the following game, the Razorbacks’ loss to Kentucky last Saturday.
Coach Eric Musselman said soreness in his knee had kept Brazile out of practices and that he was “not close” to being able to play against the Wildcats. On his radio show Monday, Musselman said Brazile had still not practiced.
It’s not certain if the problem is in the same knee in which Brazile tore his ACL in early December last season.
Davis missed the Kentucky game after he “stepped away from the program,” according to a team release issued minutes before tipoff.
The reasons for Davis’ departure — and whether he could eventually return — are undetermined.
Davis did not play past the 6:50 mark of the Ole Miss game. Musselman said his absence was a coaches’ decision and not related to any injury.
The senior is averaging 6.3 points and 4 rebounds and has started 18 games this season.
Arkansas (10-10, 1-6 SEC) and Missouri (8-12, 0-7) tip off at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
