Prince Edward Is ‘Taking a Break’ from Royal Obligations Despite the Royal Crisis

Following the hospitalisations of King Charles and Kate Middleton, Prince Edward has become the latest royal to take a break from royal duties.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 59, is taking a little break after returning from abroad excursions to Commonwealth countries South Africa and British territory St. Helena earlier this month, according to The Telegraph.

The announcement comes after Prince William freed his schedule to be by his wife’s side and support their family throughout this time.

After a busy trip, the royals usually take a little break. According to the Royal Diary, Prince Edward is not slated to venture out for another week.

With the Duke of Edinburgh also taking a break from royal obligations, the women of the royal family would be in command.

Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, will have a full agenda ahead of them as the elder members of the royal family recover from the health crisis.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, had ‘scheduled stomach surgery’ and is now recovering at home, according to an announcement made earlier in January.

King Charles was also released from the hospital following his prostrate surgery.
