Cillian Murphy Will Executive Produce the Sequel to ’28 Days Later’

Cillian Murphy, a popular figure in the horror genre who rose to prominence with 28 Days Later, will not only reprise his role but also serve as executive producer.

Fans suspect that the Oppenheimer star may return, while project details are yet unknown.

The dynamic duo behind the original, director Danny Boyle and brilliant writer Alex Garland, reunite to create the spectacular sequel.

The sequel is a two-part story, with Garland assuming the lead on the second segment.

Boyle, the visionary behind the original, will direct the first project, leaving the director’s chair open for the sequel, which has yet to be announced.

In a tough rivalry between major Hollywood studios, WME, which represents director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, successfully pitched the package to the industry roughly three weeks ago.

Warner Bros. and Sony emerged as the final finalists, with Sony eventually landing the coveted deal.

The reunion of Boyle and Garland, similar to George Miller’s comeback to Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015, prompted immediate interest and passionate courtship from studios and streaming services.
