Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s lovely California property has become a legal fight owing to water damage resulting in a widespread mould infestation.
The pair, who bought the opulent residence for $20 million in September 2019, is now embroiled in a legal fight over difficulties that surfaced in April 2020.
Details from the case, filed in May 2023 and acquired by Page Six, detail difficulties with the pool and spa, including “porous waterproofing” that permitted mould contamination and other issues.
The complaint also mentions a water leak in the grill area on the deck about the same time.
The celebrity couple’s ideal home, which includes seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a wealth of amenities such as an indoor basketball court, bowling alley, home theatre, spa, and more, has turned into a source of frustration.
Jonas and Chopra, through their trustee, demand “consequential damages.”
The case emphasises the need for reimbursement for repair costs, compensation for loss of use, and extra damages caused by the defendants’ claimed actions.
While the exact expenses are unknown, the lawsuit suggests that waterproofing issues alone are projected to exceed $1.5 million, with estimated “general damages” totaling roughly $2.5 million.
