Nick Benedict, who was a TV star, died at the age of 76. He is famous for his parts on Days of Our Lives and All My Children, which have become classics.
The actor’s wife, Ginger, who works as a bartender at Jake’s Steakhouse in California, revealed the sad news.
The diner’s Facebook page said, “Nick Benedict’s birthday was July 14. He went to be with the Lord on this day. Please pray for Ginger.”
Before his death, a fundraiser page set up for Benedict showed that he was paralyzed from the neck down. It also said that his wife was on leave to take care of him after he had emergency surgery on his spinal cord.
Fox News says that Nick Benedict was married to Ginger for 22 years.
On the fundraiser page and on social media, friends and fans shared their love and sorrow.
One friend wrote, “Ginger and Nick have always been a lot of fun to be around. Since we moved to Bear Valley years ago, we have known them. “I’m sorry.”
In the 1970s, Benedict played Phillip Brent, the husband of Erica Cane (Susan Lucci) on the TV show All My Children.
In 1980, he was on the show Young and the Restless. From 1993 to 2001, he played Curtis Reed on the show Days on Our Lives.
The actor has also been in The Dukes of Hazzard, Knots Landing, Ironside, Adam-12, and the Mission: Impossible TV series, according to his IMDb page.
