Darius Rucker Busted for Drug Possession in Tennessee


Darius Rucker was reportedly charged with three misdemeanours in Williamson County, Tennessee.

According to TMZ, the country artist, 57, was arrested on two misdemeanour drug charges: simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance.

He was also charged with one misdemeanour for violating the city’s vehicle registration statute on Thursday, February 1, by reportedly having expired tags on his automobile.

The Hootie and the Blowfish star has been released on a $10,500 bond.

Rucker was awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to country music in December, two months after releasing his first solo album in six years.

The singer was joined by his three children: Carolyn, 28, who he shares with ex Elizabeth Ann Phillips, Daniella, 22, and Jack, 18, who he shares with his present wife Beth Leonard.

“Cary, Dani, and Jack are my heart, they’re my soul,” the musician exclaimed during his statement. “They’re everything to me and everything I do is for them.”
