Coronary Factors Take the Life of ‘The View’ Producer Bill Geddie, 68

Bill Geddie’s family said that the famous TV news producer, who worked with Barbara Walters on many of her most important projects, including the popular daytime show The View, has died at the age of 68 due to heart problems.

Geddie’s family said in a statement, “He was a big deal in TV, but at home he was an even ‘bigger than life’ husband and dad. He had a genuine love for television and entertainment.”

Bill Geddie worked with Barbara Walters on The View for 17 years as the show’s chief producer. Together, they made the show so that women of all kinds could talk about what was going on in the world. But his relationship with Walters went beyond the show.

They worked together at BarWall Productions, which was an ABC News reporter, for 25 years. Geddie was the chief producer, writer, and director of the famous Barbara Walters Specials and The 10 Most Fascinating People. He was a key part of making these shows. Walters died on December 30, 2022, at the age of 93. After that, he was no longer in touch with her.

Geddie was also a producer for ABC News’s “Good Morning America.” He also wrote the story for the science fiction movie “Unforgettable,” which starred Ray Liotta and Linda Fiorentino and came out in 1996.

Bill Geddie was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 17, 1955. He went to the University of Texas at Austin and got a degree in communications and film in 1977. He started out in the news business as a floor cleaner at KOCO, a station that was part of the ABC network.
