Executive Director Laura Goss said Florida is the third leading producing state for peanuts with 200 thousand acres throughout the state.

47 teams participate in four building categories– food, Florida, freestyle, and agriculture. This is the first year they are hosting this event.

“We know that peanuts are a trifecta of affordability, the most affordable source of quality protein, and health benefits,” said Goss.

The legos symbolize peanuts and the health benefits for a growing body.

“The health benefits range from diabetes, and cancer to heart health to brain growth, all those great nutritional benefits. We’re building on those nutritional facts to support a child’s growth and development.”

The regional competition is underway in Williston. However, the winning teams will go on to the championship at the FPF banquet in Lake City on February 24th.
