Selena Gomez Thinks Her Mental Health Journey Makes People Less Lonely


Selena Gomez, who is now 31 years old, thinks that her journey with her mental health can help other people feel less alone.

In a story on E! News, the star of the documentary My Mind & Me talked about how she learned to accept herself, her highs and lows, and how she gave herself time to heal.

In May 2022, when she spoke at the Mental Health Youth Action Forum, the singer of “Calm Down” talked about how she struggled with her mental health after being identified with bipolar disorder in her 20s.

The Only Murders in the Building actress said, “I felt like once I found out what was going on mentally, I found that there was more freedom for me to be okay with what I had because I was learning about it.”

“Bringing attention to mental health through media or just by talking about your journeys can help,” the singer said.

Selena talked about her mental health path after being diagnosed with lupus in 2014 and getting a kidney transplant in 2017.

She said that “really what kept me going”

“Mental health is very personal for me,” said the singer.

She also said, “And I hope that by using my platform to share my own story and working with incredible people like all of you, I can help others feel less alone and find the help they need, which is honestly all I want.”
