A Disney Alum Bridgit Mendler Launches Space Communications Firm

Bridgit Mendler is reaching for the stars as she adds a new job to her already stellar CV.

The former Disney Channel star, 31, said on Monday that she will now be the CEO of Northwood Space, a startup with a purpose to build a “data highway between earth and space.”

“We have our sights on building a data highway between earth and space,” she wrote on X, which was formerly Twitter. “We are designing shared ground infrastructure from first principles to expand access to space. We have a lot of work ahead of us but that’s the fun part.”

Mendler, well known for his role as Teddy Duncan on Good Luck Charlie from 2010 to 2014, graduated from the University of Southern California in 2016.

She then earned a master’s and doctorate in philosophy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2020 and 2024, respectively, and a doctorate of law from Harvard Law School in 2024, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Mendler is not only a Disney alumni; she also played Kristen in the 2008 film The Clique. In 2017, she released multiple singles following the release of her studio album Hello My Name Is… in 2012.

In October 2023, Mendler launched Northwood with her husband Griffin Cleverly and engineer Shaurya Luthra.
