‘Barbie’ Star Margot Robbie Explains Why She Decided Against Kissing Ryan Gosling


Margot Robbie, who played Barbie’s main character, talked about how she couldn’t fully kiss her co-star Ryan Gosling in the movie.

In the movie, which came out on Friday, Margot and Ryan play a couple. They play Barbie and Ken, respectively.

In an interview with People magazine, the actress said that her female friends made fun of her when they found out that Margot couldn’t kiss Ryan Gosling the way she was supposed to in the movie.

When the reporter asked her if she was glad she didn’t have to fully kiss Gosling in the movie, she said, “Uh, no! That didn’t feel like a win for me.”

She said, “All of my girlfriends were like, you did a whole movie with Ryan, and you don’t kiss?” They made fun of her and asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Margot, who was also a director of the movie, said, “My friends said we thought you were in charge on this one! and I was like, I know but I can’t check that off.”

Hindustan Times says that the plot of the movie is “Barbie and Ken get expelled from utopian Barbie land, and then they go on a journey of self discovery to the real world.”

In the Barbie movie, there were also cameos by Dua Lipa, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Will Ferrel, America Ferrera, and Kate McKinnon.
