MANCHESTER, NJ — Members of the Manchester Township Schools’ Junior Impact and Impact clubs delivered hundreds of boxes of cereal to a food pantry in the township, to help support those in need of food.
The boxes were the result of donations to the annual “Cereal War,” which seeks donations around Manchester Township to support local food pantries.
This year, the students and the members of the Lakehurst-Manchester Rotary Club delivered the cereal to the Joel E. Perlmutter Memorial Food Pantry @The Barn in Whiting.
The food drive started at the beginning of February, and on Feb. 15 the students boarded a school bus and picked up donations at businesses that were supporting the cereal collection food drive.
Then students and staff unloaded the donated cereal boxes @TheBarn to help support their initiative to provide support for those experiencing food insecurity in our area.
The Barn and the pantry are dedicated to supporting local families in need by providing nourishment and essential resources.
“Through our collective efforts, all proceeds generated @The Barn are compassionately directed to Inspire-NJ, helping to feed and assist families facing hardships within our local area,” the district said. The cereal donation supports this community mission.
“Thank you to our school community and the Lakehurst-Manchester Rotary Club for your support of our students and this fundraising effort,” the district said.
