“Come From Away,” the inspiring touring musical about a small town in Newfoundland that took in 7,000 stranded travelers on 9/11, will have one performance only at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Raising Cane’s River Center Performing Arts Theatre. Tickets start at $49. ticketmaster.com.

Blues and boogie woogie queen Marcia Ball and her band play the Manship Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The veteran, Vinton-raised artist will be joined by Kenny Acosta for the show, presented by Red Dragon Listening Room. Tickets are $59.95 and up. manshiptheatre.org. 

Get your gumbo

For the 72nd year, St. James Episcopal Church is cooking up gumbo for the community. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, it’s Gumbo-to-Go (takeout or drive-thru pickup only) for $18 a quart. Gumbo! follows on Friday, March 8 (includes dine-in option). Preorders taken at stjamesgumbo.org.
