PEORIA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A busy West Valley intersection is closed during morning rush hour traffic after crash left a pedestrian seriously hurt on Wednesday morning.

According to Peoria police, the person was hit by a car near 75th and Peoria avenues around 7:30 a.m. The victim was then rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver stayed at the scene and investigators are working to determine if speed or impairment were involved in the collision.

Authorities say Peoria Avenue will be closed from 75th Avenue eastbound to 73rd Drive for the next several hours. Click or tap here for the First Alert Traffic map.
