St. Joseph County Department of Health makes Health First St. Joseph County funding announcement


ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The St. Joseph County Department of Health announced its list of Health First St. Joseph County community grant recipients, with the funds totaling $973,755.

Health officials state the awarded organizations have worked diligently over the past several months to prepare evidence-based, best practice programs to address core public health service areas.

The core health service areas are listed as maternal/child health, tobacco prevention and cessation, chronic disease prevention, infectious disease surveillance and prevention, and school wellness.

The following organizations will be awarded the funds in 2024.

• Indiana University School of Medicine-South Bend

• Portage Township

• Real Services, Inc.

• St. Margaret’s House

• United Health Services

• Unity Gardens, Inc.

• HealthLinc, Inc.

• Street Medicine South Bend

• Beacon Health System

• E. Blair Warner Family Medicine Center

• Northern Indiana Maternal and Child Health Network

• University of Notre Dame-Eck Institute

• Women’s Care Center

• Cultivate Food Rescue

• Mental Health Awareness of Michiana

• Purdue Extension St. Joseph County

• South Bend Empowerment Zone

• Saint Joseph Health System
