That’s What She Said returns to the stage. Here’s more, via Editor Jeff D’Alessio:
■ Saturday night marks the ninth version of nine local women sharing personal stories “of love, loss, tragedy and triumph” at downtown Champaign’s Virginia Theatre. Coming next month to the Douglass Community Center: the spinoff, “That’s What Teens Say.”
■ Born in Champaign, ”That’s What She Said” has blossomed into a franchise, with shows also planned this year in Danville, Bloomington-Normal, Decatur, Naperville, Peoria, the Quad Cities, St. Clair County, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Columbia, Mo.
■ Each year, the event benefits a local nonprofit. This year, it’s RACES (Rape Advocacy, Counseling and Education Services), headed up by “She Said” alumna Jaya Kolisetty, part of the 2022 local cast. Tickets are $44 for the show, $27.50 for the after-party at Neil St. Blues.
