About 6 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a call about suspicious activity in the 3600 block of 65th Avenue in Greeley. The caller said a man in a white truck was trying to get through the security gate onto their property.

Police tried to communicate with the man after they arrived, but he would not cooperate, police said. As police tried to get him to exit his truck, Lujan rammed a deputy’s patrol car with his vehicle, according to the release.

Police closed roadways around the scene and sent a Reverse 911 call to residents while medical personnel staged the area.

After two hours of trying to get Lujan to exit his truck, police removed him with force.

Greeley, Evans, Milliken and Johnstown police assisted at the scene. The Weld County Sheriff’s said the investigation is active and it will not release further information at this time.

Lujan was taken to a hospital to receive medical clearance to be booked into the Weld County Jail. He has a handful of court dates upcoming in March but none relating to this case.
