CEDAR PARK, Texas — It was a packed house for the launch party as Silicon Valley-based Plug and Play just set up its first Texas headquarters in Cedar Park.
“It’s big,” Investor and Austin Next Podcast Host Jason Scharf said. “If you look at any of the tables at the biggest accelerators of the world Plug and Play is always top five usually two or three.”
Plug and Play Tech Centers connect entrepreneurs with Fortune 500 companies.
They have over 50-thousand startups in their ecosystem along with a venture capital arm.

Amidi says their mission is to boost innovation and create a culture like Silicon Valley.
“We hope we can bring the magic from California here and as we would help about a hundred startups a year build their dream,” Amidi said. “We would like to be part of the community.”
The Cedar Park office will focus on advanced manufacturing.
“We feel we could really help innovation in production, in supply chain, in sustainability, combined we call it advanced manufacturing,” Amidi said.
Entrepreneurs and tech leaders say this will be a game changer for the region.
“It’s exciting,” CEO of Ibble Raymond Kaminski said. “The more partners you bring to the table is going to drive more people into the state, more investment into the state, and as all different startups come through their program those are going to be the next dreamers that build their startup and so on and so on.”
Giving Central Texas even more high-tech clout.
“It says that we’ve arrived,” CEO and Founder of the Austin Healthcare Council said.
