McDonald’s, Pittsburgh University Team On Free Food Offer

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA — Two McDonald’s restaurants in Pittsburgh’s western suburbs have announced a new partnership initiative with Robert Morris University dubbed “We Score, You Score.”

Supporting both the men’s and women’s hockey and basketball teams, the program gives fans a free medium fry when a team reaches a scoring threshold: 70 points for men’s basketball, 60 points for women’s basketball, and three goals for both hockey teams.

The offer is available at the Moon McDonald’s on Gracy Center Way and the Coraopolis location on 4th Avenue. Fans need to present their digital ticket to get the freebie.

McDonald’s is also serving up halftime fun with a free digital scratch-off in the RMU app. Fans can win a $25 gift card or a free sandwich.

“I am super excited to build this partnership with RMU athletics. I really wanted to get involved and give back to the Moon community, and this relationship with the Colonials is the perfect way to do that,” said Toni Santonastasso-Hower, who owns the two participating franchises.

The sponsorship is underwritten by Santonastasso Family Restaurants. The Bridgeville company has been associated with the McDonald’s brand for more than 40 years. The Santonastasso family owns and operates a dozen McDonald’s restaurants across the Pittsburgh area and employs more than 700 local residents in full- and part-time positions.
