Mental health evaluation ordered for manslaughter defendant

A mental health evaluation was ordered for a man charged with “recklessly causing” the death of his girlfriend with a handgun in lieu of the defense’s bail request to release him on personal recognizance.

Earlier this month, defense attorney Leif Becker on behalf of Tyler Cook, 26, asked for a bail hearing to consider his release as “he is not a specific or general threat and does not represent a flight risk.”
