FLORENCE, Ala. (WAFF) – Interested high school students have the opportunity to learn the history of the music business in the Shoals.
According to WAFF’s newspaper partner, The Decatur Daily, the 2024 Muscle Shoals Music Camp is now accepting applications for the week-long day camp.
The camp is set to be held at the University of North Alabama’s School of the Arts and the Department of Entertainment Industry facilities.
Students will have the opportunity to study all the ends of the music business. From songwriting, recording technology, the music business and the history of Muscle Shoals music.
The camp is scheduled for June 10 to 14. The deadline to apply for the camp is April 1.

The camp curriculum includes field trips to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, FAME Recording Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, plus workshops and panel discussions.
In addition, students will be formed into bands, then during the week, they’ll work together to write and record original songs.
The cost of the camp is $250, which includes meals as well as transportation and admission to field-trip sites. The deadline for payment is May 10.
