I Set Aside $160 for Spring Decor—Here Are the 7 Items I’m Eyeing at Walmart

One thing about me is that I’m always on the lookout for the best deals—not only for my job but also for my own bank account. As a true bargain hunter, I base my grocery list on what foods are on sale for the week, shop at thrift stores for clothes and accessories, and carefully select pieces for my home. And thanks to my spring fever (we’re starting to see 50- to 60-degree temperatures in Iowa), I’m ready to pick out a few new pieces of decor to refresh my space.

With a $160 budget in mind, I perused Walmart’s spring decor shop and found seven items that will add color and texture to my home while staying below the threshold. Currently in my online cart are window curtains, a woven pouf, throw pillows, and more finds starting at $7 from Better Homes & Gardens, Mainstays, and other affordable yet quality brands. The best part? They look very similar to items I’ve seen at pricier retailers.

My Texas House Emerson Linen Stripe Curtain Panel Pair

Walmart

Switching out your curtains is an easy way to give your space a fresh look, so I’m eyeing this set that’s an ideal style for spring, featuring a light-filtering linen fabric that lets the sun in while providing privacy and style. The gray and taupe options both feature a striped pattern and come in various sizes to fit different window sizes. I love the tie-top design that will add dainty bows to my room for the upcoming season.

Mainstays Mini Faux Wood Table Lamp With Shade

Walmart

Lamps are my favorite decor piece—the more, the merrier. They warm up my home with a cozy ambiance (with the right light bulbs, of course) and bring life to my tables. This petite lamp has a faux wooden base and a beige fabric shade and is a great size for nightstands, home offices, kitchen counters, and small tables in living rooms and entryways. If you’ve gone lamp shopping lately, you’re aware that finding one with both a base and a shade for $11 is basically unheard of, so I recommend grabbing a few of these.

Stylehouse Cotton Natural Jute Pouf

Walmart

The most expensive item in my spring decor haul is actually a piece of furniture, meaning a pouf for just $50 is quite the deal. It provides an additional seat for guests, a spot to rest my feet while lounging on the couch, and I can even place a tray on top and use it as a surface to hold a beverage. The pouf is made of 100 percent cotton and natural jute fibers, offering comfort and visual appeal with its woven design.

Better Homes & Gardens Set of Two Decorative Pillows

Walmart

I have a large sectional in my basement that is lacking pillows, so I’m grabbing two of these sets for $32—yes, that makes each pillow just $8. They have a cotton cover with a linen-like texture and fringed edges for a hint of bohemian-inspired style. The 20- by 20-inch pillows also look great on accent chairs, sofas, and benches. The blue-green color is suitable for this time of year and will coordinate well with my blue-gray couch.
