Kensington Palace issues Kate Middleton health update after Prince William pulls out of memorial

Kensington Palace has released an official statement to reassure the public that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is ‘doing well’ as she continues to recover from her surgery.

The 42-year-old is currently recuperating at the family home of Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. She underwent abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in January.

The truth about Kate Middleton’s real health status

On Tuesday, she missed the memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece at Windsor Castle, which is being hosted by the British royal family.

Her husband, Prince William, also pulled out of the memorial service and he had to contact the Greek royal family to apologise for his absence.

Apart from it being for ‘personal reasons’, no clear reason has been given for William to have pulled out of the event. There is a chance that it was related to his wife’s condition, but that is only speculation at this stage.

King Charles also misses the memorial

King Charles also missed the service today, as he continues his treatment for cancer. Instead, Queen Camilla instead led members of the Royal Family at the event.

Earlier in February, The Daily Mail reported that Middleton joined Prince William and their three children for a half-term holiday to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

“Catherine is recovering well,” a friend told the newspaper.

“She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William.”

As news that Middleton had been discharged emerged, a Kensington Palace spokesman said: “The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.

“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.”
