PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) – Baptist Health Paducah has welcomed a newborn baby boy on Leap Day.

Katie and Demetric Johnson of Paducah welcomed their fifth baby on February 29. The baby was born at 2:57 p.m., weighed nine pounds, seven ounces, and was 22 inches long.

According to Baptist Health Paducah, babies born on Leap Day celebrate their birthdays on February 28 or March 1. Katie says they plan to celebrate on both days.

“What’s better than a two-day birthday every year with a super celebration every four years?,” said Katie.

The Johnson’s have four other children ranging in ages from two to 14-years-old.

Babies born on Leap Day are roughly one in 1,460.
