Martin’s Mill girls win state title in thrilling fashion, 44-42


SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KLTV) – The Martin’s Mill Lady Mustangs are coming home as state champions after their game against Nocona.

The girls were tied in a tense match at halftime.

Sports Director Michael Coleman talks about what it will take for the girls to claim the state title.

They claimed the 2A state championship with a 44-42 win. Freshman and game MVP Kara Nixon made the final shot and beat the buzzer.

The girls won 44-42 against Nocona on Saturday.
“I try to coach her hard because she’s a great player, and I try to turn her loose when I can,” said Head Coach Jay Bruce about Kara Nixon’s winning shot.
