Lady Gaga Remembers Tony Bennett’s Gift


Lady Gaga once talked about a special gift that Tony Bennett gave her, and the story is worth telling.

Tony Bennett, a famous musician from the US, died on July 21 in New York City at the age of 96.

Tony Bennett, who died on Friday at age 96, drew a sketch of a trumpet for the Joker: Folie à Deux actress, who later got it tattooed on her arm as a reminder of her time with the famous singer.

The 37-year-old actress and singer told People in 2014, “I asked Tony to draw me a trumpet, and he drew me Miles Davis’ trumpet.” Then I got his last name, Benedetto, tattooed on the bottom. So I could always remember the time we spent together.’

The tattoo was on the inside of Stefani Germanotta’s right arm, which is her real name. She had worked with the singer of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” more than once.

In 2014, the singer of “Poker Face” told People that she met the singer of “Rags to Riches” for the first time in 2011 at a charity event where she sang “Orange Colored Sky” by Nat King Cole.

The Born This Way singer said, “Tony heard me sing it, and he asked to meet me.”He asked, “Do you want to make a jazz album together?” I said, “Of course I do!” We became friends quickly.’

The pop star and the singing great worked together for the first time on the hit jazz record Cheek to Cheek, which came out in 2014.

They also worked together on Bennett’s 2021 jazz album Love for Sale, which he made after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016.

In August of 2021, they played together at his last two shows at the famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
