Over 100,000 Amazon shoppers use the platform to discuss products and share advice.

One user posted several pictures of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics processing unit that they’d purchased.

The box was sealed in plastic and didn’t look peculiar from the outside.

“Finally became victim to a return scam, paid $1855 for a bag of flour,” the disgruntled user wrote.

They provided five images of the box, including one that shows the processing unit is not inside.

Instead, a bad of flour is pictured in its place despite the box seeming to be unopened prior to the customer’s unboxing.

“The first red flag was that Gigabyte graphics cards are not shrink wrapped (they have never been, anyone can YouTube unboxing videos) but the weight felt fine,” the Amazon customer wrote.

“$1855 bag of flour, weighted to be what a new 4090 should weigh in a box of this size,” they wrote next to the picture of the bag of flour.

“The tooth brush were worth way more than the book. So I just didn’t return them and Amazon sent me TWO more books,” one Reddit user replied.

“If you don’t fight this then it will keep happening to others,” another said.

“Would be better for everyone if you returned it, even if you don’t get a refund, in the hopes Amazon will be able to determine who returned it.

“We all know they probably won’t, but it can’t help to just absorb this loss,” another person wrote.
