Chris Harrison, the former face of the popular Bachelor series, is returning to the spotlight nearly three years after his departure. This time, Harrison will host two new shows on Dr. Phil McGraw’s future network, Merit Street Media.
The first is an untitled weekday morning discussion program, which Harrison will co-host with his wife, Lauren Zima. The show’s structure and premiere date are currently unknown, but it is likely to air in the fall or winter of 2024.
Harrison will also create and host a brand-new reality dating series. The project is set to film at Merit Street Studios in Texas, where Harrison now lives with his wife.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Harrison voiced his enthusiasm about the new effort, calling it “divine intervention” and a chance to return to television in front of his “hometown crowd.” He also hinted at the show’s potential for drama, saying, “We want to create a show where ‘This is the most dramatic show ever’ actually rings true.”
This new chapter follows Harrison’s departure from the Bachelor franchise in 2021 following controversial remarks about racism.
Dr. Phil, on the other hand, reportedly urged Harrison to go beyond dating shows, providing him with a “blank slate” to develop something new.
