Applications are being accepted from artists who want to be part of the Grand River Arts Festival in September.

The festival, held on the grounds of Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, is a celebration and exhibition of visual arts, music and theatre.

Last year, more than 35 artist vendors, 18 theatre troops and 11 musicians participated. More than 2,500 visitors attended the event. 

Practicing artists who would like to be part of the festival in order to sell their work must complete an application by May 1. Selected artists will be notified by May 31. 

The visual and applied component of the festival is selected by committee. Admission will be based on originality, workmanship and professional presentation. The number of exhibitors per category will be taken into consideration. All work displayed in the show should be of consistent high caliber as indicated in initially submitted images. 

There is no cost to submit an application, which can be found at grandriverartsfestival.ca 

The festival will be held on Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21.
