RCHS Visual Arts awards and recognition

The Rushville Consolidated High School Visual Arts Department wishes to congratulate participants in the Central and Southern Regional Scholastic Art Competition and the 7th Annual Whitewater Valley Art Association’s High School Art Show and Competition that recognizes students for their creative and skillful achievements.

Mallory Angle, RCHS senior, was awarded Honorable Mention in both contests, while Sophia Morgan and Elle James received Honorable Mention in the Scholastic Art Competition.

Mallory, Sophia, and Ellie’s awards are quite an accolade as they competed against nearly 3,500 high school artists from 54 counties in the Central and Southern Indiana region.

Twelve RCHS students competed in the WVAA art show and competition, which is open to all high schools in the six counties that surround the Whitewater Valley.

Students that submitted art, participated, and attended the gallery opening were: Madisyn Griffin, Sophia Morgan, Sarah Williams, Gabby Pavey, Brooklyn Newbold, Taya Spears, Mallory Angle, Eva Cox, Abigail Bossingham, Angel Morris, Eden Worthen, and Miley Isgrigg. Not pictured is Erica Kuhn.

The WVAA art show remains up for viewers through the month of March. The gallery is located 402 N. Central Avenue, Connersville, Indiana.
