Celine Is the Latest Fashion House to Launch Makeup

From celebrities to athletes to luxury fashion houses, it seems that, nowadays, everyone is making their way into the beauty world. Whether it’s the resurgence of celebrity fragrance, the boom of A-lister-backed skin-care brands or the popularity of fashion-house makeup, everyone is dying to get involved in the ever-expanding world of beauty.

This year has been huge for luxury fashion brands entering and re-entering the beauty space, from Prada to Dolce and Gabbana and, most recently, Celine. Led by designer Hedi Slimane, Celine is known for being the epitome of classic, chic, French style. Just yesterday, Slimane announced the brand’s entrance into the luxury color cosmetics space with the launch of Celine Beauté.

Celine Beauté: What We Can Expect

While Celine Beauté technically launched back in 2019 with the release of the brand’s perfume collection, their emergence into color cosmetics marks the biggest expansion for the brand to date. In true Celine fashion, the brand announced their debut cosmetics collection as part of a film created by Slimane to unveil their Winter 2024 collection titled “La Collection de l’Arc de Triomphe.” While the maison’s latest fashion creations were the focus, the film also teased their line of cosmetics, as the models are seen wearing La Peau Nue Rose Naturel Lipstick—one of fifteen shades of the inaugural Le Rouge Celine lip products—which will be available in January of 2025. Not to fret though, a satin lipstick titled Rouge Triomphe will be launching this Fall ahead of the larger product launch.

Lip products are not the only things on the horizon for Celine Beauté. In the press release, the maison explains that they plan to expand their offerings each season, eventually featuring everything from lip balms to blush, nail polish, mascara and more. According to the press release from the brand, “the creation of Celine Beauté comes to enrich the cultural roots, promoting a French idea of femininity and allure, distilled over the last five years by Slimane in his new institutional codes for the Maison Celine.” I mean, need they say more? We’re in.
