Car crashes into pole, drives away before it falls in West Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville Police officers had to shut down a portion of a road in West Nashville after a pole was struck by a car and nearly fell on another vehicle early Friday morning.

According to personnel at the scene, a car crashed into a wooden utility pole around 3 a.m. and left the scene. A short time later, the pole toppled over, landing alongside Charlotte Avenue, causing power lines to land on a Pepsi transport vehicle.

No injuries were reported but MNPD was forced to close most of the road so crews with the Nashville Electric Service could remove the line and repair the pole.
