Work in Fashion Week: most in demand jobs

The Milan Fashion Week continues to shine as one of the most prestigious events in the fashion world, attracting thousands of visitors from around the globe every season. With the increase in activities related to events and fashion shows, the market for professional services has seen further momentum, with growing demands and some interesting trends emerging from the data collected by ProntoPro in its latest study. According to the company, there has been a doubling in demand for private drivers. According to ProntoPro, the leading marketplace for professional services, requests for private drivers have increased by 34% compared to the previous year. During Fashion Week and the week preceding it, a clear trend emerges on the ProntoPro.it website: the most requested profession is that of a private driver. This service is essential for travel between cities and airports, and this year it dominates the ranking with 61% of requests, recording a significant increase of 34% compared to the same period last year.

In second place, there is a notable increase in the demand for DJs, rising from 5% to 16%, thus making it to the podium. The catering service, despite a 17.5% decrease compared to 2023, ranks third. Rounding out the Top 5 are requests for videomakers and photographers for photographic services, both at 5%. The percentage decrease in catering requests compared to the previous year is a noteworthy phenomenon during Fashion Week. Although it is still one of the most requested services, the decline highlights a possible evolution in the tastes or preferences of event organizers. This could indicate a greater diversification in culinary choices during various fashion-related events, or a greater preference for other forms of entertainment or dining during the shows. This trend could push catering service providers to review their strategies to adapt to the changing market demands during Fashion Week and similar events.

What might be the cost of such services during a major Milanese event? Regarding the use of a private driver, prices start from a base amount of €60 for travel within the city, while they rise to €70 when organizing a transfer to and from the airport. Renting a catering service requires a budget starting from €40 per person, while hiring a professional for makeup or hair varies between €50 and €65 per hour. Minimum costs increase for photographic services (starting from €150), DJs (€180 per event), and videomakers (€300 per event). However, it is important to note that these are only minimum prices and can vary significantly depending on specific needs, the level of luxury required, and the customization of services.
