“The first thing that comes to mind when I think of spring: flowers!” says Allanah Barnes, interior designer at design firm Freemodel. This gorgeous faux bouquet consists of 20 pink tulips with ombre details on the petals for a more realistic appearance. “These tulips are stunning,” Barnes adds. “Pop them in some water and your guests would never know they’re artificial.” Each stem is 13.8 inches long and made of flexible plastic that covers a malleable steel wire inside. Now a whopping 67 percent off, Lauren Williamson (one half of the duo behind Austin, Texas-based design build firm Cedar & Oak) often recommends one specific rug from one specific Loloi collaboration. “We have purchased this rug multiple times for our main living area rug with clients who are looking for something that grounds the space, but isn’t wildly expensive with animals and kiddos running around,” Williamson says. “It has an elevated look and feel without feeling like you’re going to ruin it by placing it in a high-traffic area.” 

O’Bright Dimmable LED Pharmacy Floor Lamp

Interior designers and Amazon shoppers alike are obsessed with this dimmable LED floor lamp. Available in antique gold, brushed nickel, and black (at varying price points depending on the finish), more than 1,000 shoppers have bought this lamp and it has racked up 3,260 five-star ratings in the past month. 

“We love this lamp for the slender footprint in the room and the timeless design,” Williamson says, adding that she was pleasantly surprised by the finish. “A couple of these can be placed within the room beside a couch or comfy chair without becoming a focal point of the entire space. “Including small lamps throughout the shelving decor or on a side table really changes the space,” Williamson says. “They don’t have to be huge to help set the tone for the living room, and honestly, smaller lamps create the mood without stealing attention.”

This corded lamp probably shouldn’t go in your shower, but it is compatible with Alexa smart outlets, so it’s a great fit for any other room in the house. Designed by New York-based designer Jonathan Yaraghi of the home decor brand Jonathan Y, the lamp has a sphere base with a touch of texture, and it also comes with a 100 percent cotton hardback drum shade that also adds a bit of texture.

“Something like this with a simple, clean base allows you to change the shade to be as funky or as clean as you want it to be depending on where you’re placing it,” Williamson adds.

“Coffee table styling is one of our favorite parts of pulling the living room together,” Williamson says. “We love collecting trays, candles, books, and various trinkets to create cohesive function and style for the most visited area of the house.”

Reed’s second throw pillow cover recommendation comes from the same Amazon brand, only this one is made from linen fabric that has a more subtle texture than the boucle above. Plus, the flange edge adds some character and a more polished look. Buy several in Reed’s favorite color, natural beige, or mix and match a few different hues, including brown, white, gray, hazel, mustard yellow, navy blue, and olive green.

“If you really want to go the extra mile to elevate your [pillow] look, steam your pillow covers before putting them on,” Reed recommends. “You’ll have pillows that look way more expensive than they are.”

Bedsure Linen Fleece Throw Blanket

Sure, this super plush fleece blanket is the perfect winter accessory for cold evenings spent by the fire, but the warmer spring weather doesn’t mean you have to put it away in storage. Drape it over the side of an armchair or the back of your sofa to add more dimension to the area. It doesn’t matter if it’s too hot to use—simply draping it there pulls together the whole room.

“Updating throw blankets throughout your home is one of the easiest ways to instantly make your space feel cozy and fresh,” Reed says. “I always look for blankets with a bit of texture so that they add a bit of depth and warmth to the space.
