CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Mental health officials in Cambria County are reminding the public about resources available to those in crisis.
Officials say they are seeing an increased need for access to mental health services in the county.
They say one of those resources is the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
Officials there say they also provide suicide prevention education and awareness and offer free training for anyone in the community so they can recognize the signs.
“Suicide happens all year long. It’s knowing where to access resources and knowing how to get help so if you are experiencing these feelings, you know who you are reaching out to in the community is making those connections so not only in the mental health community but in the business community,” said Tanya Kvarta, executive director of the Cambria County Behavioral Health.
Officials say walk-in hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., but a mobile response team is available 24/7.
Remember, if you or a loved one or a friend is struggling, they say to dial or text 988.
You can also call the Cambria County Reach Crisis Center at 1-877-268-9463.
