Experience Patterns In Nature at Lasdon Park

A unique and incredible exhibit that demonstrates the strong, fascinating connection between science and nature is at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial through June 16.

Patterns in Nature help visitors learn with hands-on activities, videos, multi-colored imagery and more. Hundreds of beautiful specimen plants, flowers and shrubs demonstrate each topic in six rooms.

This vibrant journey features touch screens with interactive puzzle games that entertain children (suggested age 7+), while helping them understand pattern concepts. Lift boxes and an infinity “fun” room allow visitors to see how patterns relate to their everyday lives.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Lasdon is the perfect venue for Patterns in Nature. The park’s 234 acres are dedicated to natural beauty and encourage visitors to explore Mother Nature in all of her glory, especially this time of year. This exhibit demonstrates the fascinating convergence of plant life and science.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said, “This inimitable exhibit is ideal for kids and adults. No matter what their ages, visitors will get a greater understanding of our natural surroundings and how they’re connected to the world of science.”

Tickets will be sold online only with scheduled viewing times; no tickets will be sold on-site. Tickets are available through May 19. Admission prices: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (62 and up), $7 ages 2 through 12, and free for children under 24 months.
