A final warning has been issued to Google users as three popular gadgets stop working forever TODAY. Three popular Google gadgets will be shut down in a blow to users of the tech giant worldwide – with the trio looking poised to stop working forever today.
The affected products are some of Google’s older security and camera devices. Google has moved and issued a “final reminder” that it would end support for Dropcam, Dropcam Pro and Nest Secure products on 8 April (Monday).
From today onwards, users will no longer be able to connect either Dropcam products to the Nest app. “About a year ago we announced that support for Dropcam, Dropcam Pro, and Nest Secure will end on April 8, 2024,” Google said in its final warning.

“Since then, we’ve reached out to impacted users through a series of email communications and in-app messages to help prepare for this transition, and to provide special offers based on eligibility.” According to the Killed By Google website, the number of past services offered by the tech giant currently stands at 294.
Among them are Google Hangouts and Google Duo as well as Google Stadia, Google+, Google Cardboard, Loon, Google Gaming app and also Google Glass, alongside Google Spaces and also Nexus. Google says: “We will be contacting eligible Nest Secure customers on Friday with an exclusive offer for a complimentary next-generation security system from ADT (up to $485 value), or $200 to use on the Google Store.”
It said: “Eligible Dropcam and Dropcam Pro users were emailed an offer towards a Nest Cam (indoor, wired). Nest Cam is part of our next generation of cameras with more helpful features like HDR and built-in intelligence. The offer can be redeemed until May 7th, 2024.
“Your Dropcam and Dropcam Pro video history will be available for a limited amount of time, the timing is based on your Nest Aware subscription version and tier (which ranges from 5 to 60 days). If you wish to keep any video clips, you can learn how to create and download clips”
