Kickoff time, television coverage announced for ECU-UTSA on Oct. 28

East Carolina has learned its start time for its next road game, with a 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CT) kickoff scheduled for its contest at UTSA on Saturday, Oct. 28, in San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. It will be the first ever meeting between the Pirates and Roadrunners.

UTSA, the reigning Conference USA champion, is in its first year in the American Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners have quickly become one of the top programs outside of the ‘Power 5’ conferences, winning consecutive C-USA championships under head coach Jeff Traylor. UTSA plays its home games at the Alamodome, which creates one of the top homefield advantages in the league. UTSA is averaging 33,429 fans per game this season.

Picked to finish second in the league’s preseason poll, the Roadrunners got off to a poor start against a strong non-conference schedule, particularly because of injury issues to quarterback Frank Harris. Harris missed two games due to turf toe, but has guided UTSA to league wins over Temple and UAB since his return, as the Roadrunners have posted at least 40 points each game to improve to 3-3 overall, and 2-0 through their first two league games. Harris has thrown for 932 yards, seven touchdowns and been picked off three times. He’s also added 75 yards and a rushing score, though his toe injury has limited him a bit.

UTSA opened the year losing 17-14 to Houston on the road, before bouncing back to top Texas State, 20-13. Army then won at UTSA, 37-29, with Harris sidelined, before Tennessee rolled over the Roadrunners, 45-14. Through six games, UTSA is averaging 387.2 yards and 27.8 points per game. The Roadrunners are allowing 406 yards and 28 points per contest, with both statistics ranking towards the bottom portion of the country.

Texas-San Antonio travels to FAU this coming weekend before returning home to host ECU.

East Carolina is sitting at 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in American action. The Pirates host Charlotte inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium this coming weekend, with a scheduled kickoff of 2 p.m. ET. The Pirates enter the week averaging 19.7 points per game and 301.8 yards per contest. The defense is allowing just 26.5 points and 331.8 yards per game.
