Following a Near-Fatal Snowplow Accident, Jeremy Renner No Longer Needs a Cane

Seven months after the accident that almost killed him, Jeremy Renner is now able to walk without a cane.

Pictures from Entertainment Tonight show that the Hawkeye star was at Kate Beckinsale’s 50th birthday party. Beckinsale turned 50.

The 52-year-old Rennervations star has been seen in public with a cane ever since the shovel accident that almost killed him on New Year’s Day.

Renner and his friend Casey Affleck were seen smiling as they walked into Beckinsale’s birthday party. For the event, he wore a light blue shirt with white pants and a denim jacket.

Reports had said before that it could take the Avengers star up to a year to get better because of how bad his injuries are.

RadarOnline said that Renner’s chest had been crushed and that his upper body had fallen down. He also had a bad leg wound and a head cut that was bleeding.

The source told the outlet, “Jeremy was in a lot of pain, and was having difficulty breathing. He knew he was in bad shape and that he might not make it out of this.”

In an April interview with Diane Sawyer for Good Morning America, Renner said this himself. He talked about the event.

“If I was there on my own, that would’ve been a horrible way to die,” he said. “And surely, I would have. Surely. But I wasn’t alone. It was my nephew, sweet Alex. And the rest of the cavalry came.”

Renner’s ribcage and eye socket were fixed with metal, a titanium rod was put in his leg, and rubber bands and screws are now holding his mouth together.
