Onyx Record Press opens in Arcadia

LOS ANGELES — Gil Tamazyan, who started as a recording engineer in 1999, opened Onyx Record Press amid continued rise in demand for vinyl.

Onyx plans to install a second custom-built, Swedish-made record press to expand their operation early next year.

Variety reports that vinyl sales so far in 2023 have increased approximately 22% over the previous year.

In recent years, Los Angeles has seen many pop-up vinyl fairs and independent record stores catering to music-lovers who enjoy the sound of vinyl and having physical media in our digital age.
